After six nights at the hotel Maxim we decamped and made our way on the train from Dusseldorf to Paderborn . We checked into the Hotel Ibis and then spent a few enjoyable hours absorbing the sights  of the Paderborn festival to commemorate St Liborius  ending the day with some food and more beer.

A lovely walk along the riverbank into Dusseldorf was followed by a boat trip along the Rhine that saw food and not a few beers consumed. After  a thunderstorm and some shopping we headed back to the hotel for yet more food and beer.
